Hi Everyone, When doing family research one family member often attracts our attention more than the others. For me it has been my GG Grandmother, Mary McInnes. Mary was born in Kintra in 1835. Her family is listed on the 1841 Census as follows: Dugald MacInnes, age 30, Boatman, born in Parish Mary, age 30, born in Parish Christina, age 9, born in Parish Mary, age 6, born in parish Sandy [Alexander], age 2, born in Parish Duncan, age 7 months, born in Parish They came to Australia in January 1849 aboard the Maitland. I have a lot of information about this family and their descendents in Australia and I really want to share it with my descendents. I don't want these stories and my research to disappear so I have decided to try to write a book so that my family will have a record of it all. I do not have a lot of information about her life and family in Mull and would really appreciate any information that anyone is willing to share with me. I am happy to acknowledge anyone's contribution. I also would love some photos of Kintra and Iona, particularly old ones, that I could use. Again I am happy to make note of who the photos belong to. I am not anticipating that this book will be published in large quantities but you never know. I am really writing it for my family. If anyone can help me in any way I would be most grateful. Thank you very much. Kind regards to all. Joy in Australia.
