I was interested to read the discussion on this topic. My McMILLAN family from Oskamull departed from Liverpool on the New Zealander in 1853 and I too have wondered how they would have travelled from Mull to Liverpool. Also, my McDONALD family from Skye was also on that ship, so they had travelled even further. Regards Libby McMillan
