Hi Ida, My Duncan McLean married Flora Cameron 7 March 1850 in Mariposa, Ontario, Canada. I have not been able to find her birthday and it keeps changing in the census. It appears to be between 1831 and 1833 on the Isle of Mull. They had 9 children... Mary Janet McColman 24 Oct 1900 Duluth, MN * my great grandfather Duncan died 5 Sep 1908 Duluth, MN Flora died 14 April 1920 Carmangay, Vulcan, Alberta, Canada ( after Duncan died she and Julia went with Euphemia and her husband to Alberta) The family seemed to go back and forth across the border. In 1861 they wre living next to Neil and Flora Arbuthnot in Mariposa, Ontario, Canada. In 1871, 1881 and 1891 they were in Nottawasga, Simcoe, Ontario. Duncan was a carpenter. They were Presbyterian. By 1900 Duncan and Flora were in Duluth, MN. My great grandfather, Daniel Donald, was a carpenter and then he ran a mill on the Rainy River (which is right on the border of the U S and Canada) He died there 28 Feb 1905 of pnuemonia. He left a wife and family of 5, one of which was my grandmother. (she was born just 6 months after he died) I haven't been able to find a birth or christening for Duncan or Flora. I am currently trying to ttack down Alexander and Lachlan. I have found one Alexander that I think might be him. This Alexander died 18 March 1878 Mariposa, Ontario, Canada. His oldest is named Charles. Is your family McLeans or McKinnons? I loved my trip to Mull!! Now I have to go back and bring my sisters.
