Hi Elaine, This might mean nothing, but my MCKINNONs who were at Burg, Kilninian, moved (or some did) to Kenegharair (excuse the spelling!) where plenty of related MCKINNON, MCLEAN etc. relatives lived. A man by the name of (now please excuse the spelling again!) Condully MORRISON, some relative of my MCKINNON grandmother (in fact his signature is on her birth reg.), lived in the area & was everything from registrar, rent collector, overseer to server of eviction notices, and an all around nasty man (according to my father.) Wondering if Conul & Condully could come from the same given name? Both are so odd to begin with. Just a thought. Mary in Canada > Also Conul is a rather unusual name for a McKinnon. Any ideas out there?
