Hello Elaine - I have corresponded with Anne and Roy in the past and have searched both of their great and generous websites (also Mull's & Ancestry's), but found no identifyable clues regarding this Donald. His father, Duncan McGilvra, was born on Mull (d. there c.1886) to Mary and Duncan McGilvra (his gr parents). Don's mother was living on Mull in 1889; name unknown. His (younger?) brothers were Malcolm and Duncan. He has an uncle Donald McG. (b.1804 Mull, d. Bruce Co Ont 1905), an aunt Sarah McGillivray McKechnie (b 1821 Mull, im. to Bruce Co 1850's, d.1904 NDak.), also an uncle Hugh living on Mull in 1889. This young Don was living on Lynedock St, Greenock, SCT with wf and kids ages 10 and 7 in 1889 according to his letter to Ontario relies; he wrote them again in 1891 from # 89 Cherry St., Toronto Ont. Their letters missed one another and this young Donald McG family was lost to us. I just joined the York rootsweb list, hoping to find this family there.
