I hadn't really expected anyone to be able to help on those. And Norma, it seems then that this Dugald MacPhail in the article was your great-grandmother's elder brother? In the 1871 census he was with my great grandfather, Hugh MacPhail, at Glenbyre and in 1891 he was with my great grandmother's cousin, Dugald MacPhail (+ his niece Christina Stewart)at Barachandroman. I wish I'd known all this before we met at MUGG! It looks like we have some talking to do so best done off-list. Thanks again for the help. Moira
