Hi Sandy This would definitely be a good possibility for Gerry's Duncan.... From the Rocky Saugeen cemetery Con 1 WGR Lot pt 14., Bentinck twp., Grey Co., Ont (Burn's Presby Ch & cemetery) Duncan Bell Jun 23 1842 aged 76 along with his sister Mary Aug 6 1852 aged 85 As Duncan was in the 1841 census Ardalanish KLF without his wife Flora McLean but has his sister Mary and his children with him. Then in 1851 Glenelg Duncan's children has Aunt Mary living with them :-) When you and Ralph found the other Mull(ers) did you happen onto James McArthur & Janet/Jessie McLean or that of Alexander Cameron & Ann McLean :-[ . I'm still hoping for a miracle here...... later Ida Ben Tinck wrote: >Jan > > In our Rocky Pioneer Cemetary where a good amount of our McCormicks are buried, I have noticed a family of Bells buried there. IS THE Duncan Bell that passed on in 1842 who IS also buried in the Rocky Pioneer Cemetary, your Duncan Bell? He was one of the first settlers in the Rocky Community about 1841, and then passed away there in 1842. > > <snipped> > > **IN OUR SEARCHING Ralph Clark(one of the authors of the Bentinck Book)and I have documented the pioneer grave plots in the Rocky Cemetary. We have seen a copy of the original and a copy of a more recent map of the pioneer grave plot maps of the Rocky Pioneer Cemetary. We have found surnames on those OLD grave plot maps that DO NOT have gravestones now. FOR SOME REASON the gravestones may not have been there. THERE ARE some pioneer names of Mull people that family members OF TODAY may not know that their ancestors are buried there, due to lack of gravestones or lack of knowledge of their family histories. > > Sandy > >
