Hi Just in case there is someone new on the list, here are my McKinnons as I know them. Farquhar McKinnon, weaver of Knockvoligan married Marion (Sarah) Livingston of Fidden on Jan 27 1818. Mary Livingston of Fidden who could be Sarah's sister married Donald McEachern on Feb 24 1818. Donald was of Knockvoligan. Farquhar and Sarah and daughter Mary left for Ontario about 1821. Apparently Farquhar's mother went with them as his father had been killed in Portugal. I don't know the name of either. The 1779 census had the following family in Kenlock. Allan McKinnon 28 workman Hugh (Eun) McKinnon 10 his brother Neil 12 his brother wife, mother, sister Neil and his wife Marsaly McGillvra and family went to the Red River Settlement in 1812. In 1815 they left Red River and came to Upper Canada (Ontario) Hugh and wife Margaret McGillivra joined Neil in about 1821. I think Farquhar probably came with his Uncle Hugh. Marsaly and Margaret were sisters and the daughters of Donald McGillivra and were born at the foot of Glenmore. I do not definitely know that my Farquhar is the nephew of Neil and Hugh, but there is a lot of secondary evidence that he is. I have quite a lot on these families in Ontario, but they left Mull so early that I have never found any connections there for my McKinnons or Livingstons.
