Ian I read with interest your posing on the Bounty Ships Scheme and wonder if Angus McMillan (son of Archibald McMillan and Flora McIntyre from Oskamull) was on one of these ships. It seems that he arrived in the colonies in about 1841 (with reference to his death certificate below). I have not been able to find his name or ship. If anyone can find this info - I would appreciate. I have these details from his death certificate: Death: 17 January 1902 Registered at Natimuk, Victoria Australia. Described as: Gentleman Male - 79 years Father - Archibald McMillan, Farmer Mother - Flora McMillan nee McIntyre Informant - John McMillan, Son, Burrawang, New South Wales Burial - 18 January 1902, Harrow Cemetery, Where born - Isle of Mull, Scotland Years in Colony - 61 years in Victoria (This means that he came to Victoria in 1841. If he died at 79, then he was 18 when he came to Victoria. Noting that his parents came in 1853.) Married in Melbourne to Marion McKean when he was 29. (If he was 79 in 1902, then his marriage was in Abt 1852. It is also noted that in Scotland, the name Marion is often interchanged with Sarah.)
