Hi Everybody, Back safe & sound from Mull. Enjoyed my holiday there. I stayed at Bunessan. Spent a day walking to the Scoor cemetery,& on to Shiaba. Disappointed as I could not cross the burn, which is just after the Schoolhouse. There had been some heavy rain falls. I wanted to find the croft no 11. That was where the McKinnon's were supposed to have lived. Never mind perhaps next year. I attended the MOD where I met Ian. It was Very good. I spent a day on Iona. The beaches are lovely. The best part though was attending the Fiddlers Rally. It was held one Saturday evening at Tobermory. People who play the fiddle come from all over Scotland to participate. There was also two accordionists & a drum player. They only had that day to practice before the performance that evening. It was excellent. Everyone enjoyed it. My last two days were spent getting to know my cousin & her family. They live at Bothwell, Glasgow. It was through Ida that I contacted her. I was looking for information re the McNairs. Ida remembered a person also looking for the same family, & low & behold it was a cousin. We went to several places my G-grandfather worked as a shepherd when he moved from Mull to the mainland. We even found where the farm used to be standing from which my grandfather, my father, his brother's & sisters moved from when they came down to Essex. Am looking forward to my next stay. Now can anyone help me I have came across a mention of a Donald McNair, born in1848 at Langa or Lunga , Isle Of Mull. I wonder if he could be part of My family. All the best, Ellen.
