Hi Gerry, You asked recently about Catherine Campbell nee Fletcher born about 1810 who you cannot trace. I have a Catherine Fletcher born 3 May 1810 to Hugh Fletcher c1776-c1781 and Catherine McLean 10 Dec 1783 - 20 September 1875. The interesting thing is that the mother Catherine McLean is recorded as dying in Ontario, Canada. There were eight children in that family. Catherine was the eldest, followed by Janet 16 January 1813, Alexander 9 July 1814, John 14 February 1816, Elizabeth 19 March 1818, Dugald February 1819, Duncan 15 March 1824 and Charles 16 October 1827. Since the mother emigrated it is likely that a fair number of the children went too. Sadly I have no more details about any of the children, but it might be worth checking ship records and Ontario records to see if you can find them. I have a note that the parents of Catherine McLean are Duncan McLean and Mary ?, no dates sadly. And I have nothing at all about Hugh Fletcher the father other that estimated birth and death dates. Hi Bob Thanks for your information.I was sure my Catherine was the daughter of Hugh Fletcher& Catherine Mclean but their Catherine married twice and died in Canada. My Catherine married Hector Campbell who left for Canada in 1850 with the childeren. but not with her.The Ont. 1851 Ontario Census listed Hector as a widower. He married a young widow from Mull called Susan Kennedy in the 1850s.They named their first girl Catherine Fletcher Campbell which was a nice touch. She married a Alexander Mckinnon. I hope one day she may be found. With so many of us searching we are sure to find our lost sheep. Right now I am into DNA.I need a Campbell male to match up with the fletchers. My Montana cousins might help me out.My mother-in-law and I are in the same haplogroup. She was born in Russia of Lativian parents but she has turned up with many scottish matches including my maiden name Wilson and lots of Campbells. ----- Original Message ----- thank and regards Gerry From: "Bob Murray" <robert@murrays.org.uk> To: <sct-isleofmull@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, October 10, 2007 12:50 AM Subject: Re: [SCT-ISLEOFMULL] burial > Hi Gerry, > > You asked recently about Catherine Campbell nee Fletcher born about 1810 > who > you cannot trace.
