Hi Margaret, I am afraid I am not going to be much help to you re the number of each croft on Shiaba. I had read a copy of an article in a Scottish magazine by a distant cousin of mine. He wrote of his visit to Mull & Shiaba. He stated that building no 11 on the diagram of the site was what was left of the McKinnon household. When I visited Shiaba I had no map of the site. I was going to count the buildings as I went by them. I don't think that would have been successful as they are scattered all over the place from what I can remember of my first visit there. I would have thought this cousin would have obtained information from the Argyll & Bute District Archives. I would think they have maps of that area as well as crofter's names & the site of their crofts. It should be well- documented as it is such a well - preserved settlement.
