Joy and Scott, Thank you much for your e-notes. Joy, I don't know yet if Jan's Beaton folks lived in Kilmallie, Argyll. I do know that for a time at least, the Beatons lived close to where Annie's grandfather MacDonald lived. As an old woman Annie told Jan that after her mother died she used to leave her house continually and walk over to her grandfather's house, until finally they decided to let her live there.
