Jean, This is interesting, but I don't think it is the Capt. Duncan Campbell that married Isabel MacLean in 1822. >From what I have been able to piece together on the Duncan Campbell that Alison is referring to (at least I think it is the same family) is: Duncan Campbell, christened 23 April 1777 Kilninian, Argyll, Scotland, son of Archibald Campbell and Isobel Campbell. No other information on the parents. This Duncan Campbell married 1st an Isabel Campbell (no further information on her) and they had a daughter, Janet Campbell, christened 12 February 1797, Kilninian, Argyll, Scotland. This Duncan Campbell married 2nd, 23 March 1798 Kilninian, Argyll, Scotland, Grizell Campbell (no further information on her). Have not come across a marriage record for Janet Campbell (ch 2/12/1797) to Archibald Cameron, but did find their daughter Catherine Cameron, christened 14 December 1823, Salen, Isle of Mull, Scotland. (Also a son, Donald Cameron, christened 12 June 1822 Tobermory, Argyll, Scotland). Catherine Cameron (ch 12/14/1823) may have actually been born 16 November 1823 Kilninian, Argyll, Scotland. I did find a Janet Cameron, daughter of Archibald Cameron and Janet Campbell, born (or christened) 7 November 1831 Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland, who married, 18 June 1854 Barony, Lanark, Scotland, a William "Jardan" (perhaps this should have read "Jordan") Have not been able to match this particular family with any of the MacLean/McLean data that I have, so would be very interested if you are able to do so. Have a great trip to Mull!!!
