I have recently stumbled across a “bunch” (what is the collective noun) of Mull exiles in Glasgow that are loosely connected to me through marriage. So being a kind soul I thought I would post them here to see if anyone has a connection and can use the info etc. Neil McKinnon born abt 1800 Torosay married Ann Colqhoun b 1806 Pennygowan D 1875 Morvern on 30/5/1821 in Torosay. Ann is daughter of Donald Colqhoun Born abt 1761 in Argyll. Donald is still alive and living in Ardchoirk, Torosay as were Neil and Ann. He is not on the 1851 Census as far as I can see. Donald and Ann move to Morvern and are there in the 1851 and 1861 Census’. Neil and Ann’s Children are as follows: Duncan McKinnon b 11/7/1821 in Torosay dies 1886 Glasgow John McKinnon b 3/9/1823 Torosay D before 1834 Alexander McKinnon b 1829 Argyll Ellen McKinnon b 1831 Argyll Jean McKinnon b 1833 Argyll John McKinnon b 22/9/1834 Robert McKinnon b 1838 Isle of Mull James McKinnon b 1840 Argyll William Gray McKinnon b 1842 Pennygowan Donald McKinnon b 1844 Pennygowan Duncan McKinnon married Sarah McLachlan b 16/4/1833 Torosay d 1891 Milton Glasgow on 19/12/1852 Campsie, Stirlingshire. Duncan and Sarah had 8 children born in Glasgow between 1854 and 1872 Robert McKinnon married first Marion Scally (my relation) on 16/7/1861 in Campbeltown (she is from there). They have 4 children, 1 born illegitimately in 1856. Robert second marriage was to Elizabeth Sibbald in Anderston Glasgow on 19/2/1867. They had at least 4 children. I do have some records for the children of John McLachlan and Mary Campbell.
