Hi All As Anne and other have brought up this subject it might be a good time to bring up my quandy as well. I have this John McArthur aged 75 born abt 1766 according to the 1841 census at Tirergair in his son's James McArthur aged 30 but James was chrst Apr 21 1806 along with his wife Janet McLean and children. So this John McArthur (1766) m Mary McFee/Phee had the following children I've been able to prove #1 Hugh abt 1803 d Sep 14 1887 Bunessan parents listed were John & Mary McFee/Phee (he also m a Janet McLean d/o John McLean & Marion/Sarah McKinnon) This Hugh seem to have boarders living with them in 1841in Tirergair A Catherine McKinnon b abt 1827 and a Neil McPhail b abt 1839. 1851 Neil McPhail is in the same h/h as Hugh McArthur in Cronaboglais Iona , then again in 1881 they have a Peter McKinnon b abt 1873 in Glasgow living with them in Bunessan. The IGI holds no leads for these McKinnon's or McPhail 's #2 James McArthur chrst Apr 21 1806 along with his wife Janet McLean and children. They emigrated to Glenelg Grey Co., Ont. in 1849 #3 Christina McArthur chrst Dec 6 1812 don't know what became of her... #4 Mary McArthur chrst Jun 18 1816 don't know what became of her... possibly a Flora b abt 1791 that m's John Beaton Apr 8 1813 I haven't followed up on this family YET.
