    3. Hello Janice and List, Janice in reply to your question about Maggie's parentage today, I unfortunately have nothing to report. She was alternatively called Mary Margaret McIntyre if that helps you at all but I don't know her place of birth. She was not listed on the 1841 census so likely had died before then. Gilbert McArthur was the son of Charles McArthur. Charles was born in June 1734 and worked as a crofter at Tir Arragan farm, Argyll Estate, Isle of Mull. His wife's name is unknown to me. Charles had two other sons besides Gilbert. They were John b. 1771 and Charles b. 1778. Gilbert was born in 1774, all three were born in Tir Arragan. They were listed on the "Inhabitants on the Argyll Estate" list of 1779. Gilbert and Maggie had 6 children that I know of, with Malcolm appearing to be the 3rd one. They were: Flora b. 11 Feb or Mar. 1804 Tir Arragan John b. 27 Apr 1806, Tir Arragan Malcolm b. 1 Sept. 1807 Tir Arragan Dugald b. 26 Nov. 1809 Tir Arragan Duncan b. 29 June 1811 or 1 Jan 1811 -(first date might be a christening ?) Tir Arragan Mary b. 22 Aug 1813 Tir Arragan This information is from the Parish Records of Kilfinichen and Kilvickeon Parish and the 1841 Census for the same area. I have next to nothing further on the siblings of Malcolm, other than John who appears to have emigrated from Scotland after Malcolm. The Scottish research that has been done here was completed by my elderly cousins in the early 1970s in the Scottish Record office on their visit there. I've "inherited" their genealogical works on both their father's (my side) and their mother's - McArthur's side. Unfortunately, I don't have OPR numbers to be able to substantiate what they found. Any information I've stated above should be used then as a guide for further research. Hope this info is helpful to someone Ann Ward da.ward@sympatico.ca

    3. Hello Ann, This is the closest I have come to seeing someone that could be part of my McIntyres. Malcolm McIntyre from Ardalanish had a wife called Flora Campbell and both those names are carried on. There is also a history of the McIntyres (The other McIntyre family) having relations who went out to the West Indies. I will have to do some more digging myself. Something may come up. Kind regards Jan Peasnell/Sydney/OZ ----- Original Message ----- From: Dale and Ann Ward To: janicepeasnell@primusonline.com.au Cc: scT-ISLEOFMULL@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, March 20, 2007 12:35 AM Subject: Gilbert and Maggie (McIntyre) McArthur Hello Janice and List, Janice in reply to your question about Maggie's parentage today, I unfortunately have nothing to report.
