    3. Hello List, In reply to Elaine Robinson's entry on March 18th about Malcolm McArthur, his wife Catherine etc. This is Malcolm McArthur b. 1 Sept. 1807 in Tir Arragan, Isle of Mull to Gilbert McArthur and Maggie McIntyre. He died about 1873 in Owen Sound, Grey Co., Ontario. Catherine was the second wife of Malcolm McArthur. They married about 1841. Catherine was born about 1821, christened on 28 October 1827, the daughter of John McDonald of Ardalanish, Isle of Mull and Ann McArthur. She died on 30 April 1870 in Proton Twp., Grey Co., Ontario, Canada. Peggy was born about 1847 in Scotland. She came to Canada with her parents but cannot be found in the 1861 census. Donald went by the name Dan. He was born 14 March 1849 in Canada West. He died in Alberta. He was married twice. Catherine and Malcolm had 9 children. They lived for awhile on Lot 31, Concession 15, Glenelg Twp., Grey Co., Ontario from 1851 but moved to Lot 10, Concession 12, Proton Twp., Grey Co., Ontario in 1856 near Hopeville, Ontario. Malcolm never owned property, to my knowledge, in Owen Sound. He was on his way from his home in Proton Twp. to embark from Owen Sound on a journey to collect an inheritance in Jamaica when he had a stroke according to family lore. He was cared for by a daughter in a relative's home near Owen Sound for some time before he died. Another death year might have been 1877. If interested in this family, I have more info on the other children. Please contact me off list at da.ward@sympatico.ca Ann Ward

    3. Hello Ann, Do you have any particulars for Maggie McIntyre wife of Gilbert McArthur? I have long been searching for the two daughters of Malcolm McIntyre from Ardalanish. They were counted in the Duke of Argyll's census but so far back there is no records unless they are death records. There were two McIntyre families living at Ardalanish at the time and so far we have not been able to link them, this Maggie could belong to them as well. Do you (or anyone else) have the names of any of Gilbert McArthur's other children? Kind regards Jan Peasnell/Sydney/OZ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dale and Ann Ward" <da.ward@sympatico.ca> To: <SCT-ISLEOFMULL@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, March 19, 2007 12:49 AM Subject: [SCT-ISLEOFMULL] Malcolm McArthur & family > Hello List, > In reply to Elaine Robinson's entry on March 18th about Malcolm McArthur, > his wife Catherine etc. This is Malcolm McArthur b. 1 Sept. 1807 in Tir > Arragan, Isle of Mull to Gilbert McArthur and Maggie McIntyre.
