Welcome to the list, Diana. Your Donald McMaster is mentioned a number of times in the diaries of Lachlan Maclean of Garmony. He had a blacksmith shop at Balifhraoich and Lachlan used his services quite often. Was Donald's father the Hugh McMaster who was smith at Ceill on Morvern in 1825-5? And did Donald have a brother John? There is also mention of a John McMaster in the diary.
