Hi Barbara, The Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine was a British magazine printed between 1817 and, I believe ceased publication in 1980. It was founded by William Blackwood and was originally called the Edinburgh Monthly Magazine. The front cover's that I saw had - for editor/publisher - William Blackwood, Edinburgh and T. Cadell, Strand, London. And yes, they are available on line (isn't that wonderful!). If you just type in Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine in your search engine, several issues will appear. I just clicked on one of them and then you get the option to view all of them. The really nice part is you can search within the magazine by name - and most of them you can download for free. Mr Bennion, I entered "Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine" in Google search and received approximately 179,000 sites. Could you please be more specific regarding the search site name and save me from alot of reading, etc. I am on a quest for more information for McColl's, McCall's, McPherson's and Campbells from the Ardmore and Tobermory areas of The Isle of Mull. Hi Fred, Sorry I can't be more specific. I came across them by accident by searching for a particular individual. But once I found one of the issues, it came me the option to view all issues. So I'm sure if you just open one of the issues you will see the same option. Good luck with your search. They really are quite wonderful and so easy to search within them.
