Hi Tricia, Tracing those listed in the 1779 Duke of Argyll 'census' is difficult because of the large time span until the next, and first true, census in 1841. Locations in the 1779 appear to over a fair sized area. The whole of Tobermory appears as an entry for Baliscate. In some (few) parts of the 1779 women are listed so the recording obviously came down to the enumerator. There are very few women recorded in the Mull parts of the census. Ian
