Hi Could be of interest to those researching MacLea/McLea/Macleay/etc or Livingston or Livingstone. A forward from the Argyll list. Ian Hi all, For those of you who are researching MacLea/McLea/Macleay/etc or Livingston or Livingstone in Argyll, I would advise stopping by the Clan Forum for Livingstone/MacLea: http://www.clanmclea.co.uk/forum/clanforum.asp or read more about the clan through the links at the left of that page. The McLeas or Livingstones (mostly from Lismore) did fight with the Stewarts of Appin and others in the '45, as part of the Appin Regiment. But there are a lot of other MacLeas around, from various parts of Scotland. We'd love to learn more about any of your families and help put the pieces together of the clan history. There's a growing clan group out there, so come by and introduce yourself. You may find some useful information. We've also built up a database of all the Livingston(e)s or M(a)cLeas/similar in the Scotlandspeople database (just names and dates, not the actual images, too expensive), so feel free to come by for look-ups too! We also have a VERY active DNA project, which welcomes members from any of the possible surnames. http://users.skynet.be/lancaster/MacLea%20surnames.htm http://users.skynet.be/lancaster/Discussion%20Maclea.htm Hope this is useful.
