Ida, I don't have any thoughts on the McLucais/McDougall question you posed but would like to go off on a new tangent Now that I have taken the 'leap of faith' to declare that the Archibald Beaton who married Catherine McNeil was the son of Lachlan Beaton/Catherine McKinnon, I wonder whether you, or any other lister, have any further thoughts on the Archibald siblings. Your last post on this topic that I have kept was dated 21. 6. 06. The siblings we have are Donald 17 Feb 1771, Ballygown Mary 21 Aug 1774, Torloisk Roderick 30 Mar 1777, Torloisk Christian 17 Mar 1782, Gometra Archibald 3 Sep 1785, Gometra. Marr Catherine McNeil 1814. Died Tobermory 1856 Marion - not in OPR but ironically the one we know most about. Born c1790. Marr Alexander Cameron and was the informant on Archibald's death in 1856.
