Hi Bonnie, McLain, McLean, etc did not come just from the Isle of Mull. In broad terms they came from areas adjacent to the Great Glen ie from Oban north to Inverness. I have just checked the Maclean.org database and regret that there is no trace of a Patrick McLain.
