Hi - I've just found a good new resource for looking up whole passenger lists of immigrants to NSW. A number of these ships came from Scotland and specifically brought Argyll, Invenessshire and Mull and other Island emigrants to the Colony. This is by no means a full list of emigrants during the period covered but it does allow the ship name to be entered and all emigrants on the ship to be listed alphabetically. This can be useful to see listings of the same surnames. You can also do a first name only search, which might be useful for those with uncommon first names. It's at http://www.records.nsw.gov.au/archives/indexes_online_3357.asp Scroll down the various indices listed on that page until you reach the "new" Index to Miscellaneous Immigrants 1828-43. On clicking on the link on the page, you are taken to a search box. You can either enter people's names or alternatively go to the ship box and select one of the ships and enter that, giving you a list of passengers on the ship. My family, the Smiths, arrived on the George Ffyfe which left from Mull, although they were from Ardnamurchan. Further information about the families can be found in their onshore records following arrival. Hope this is a useful link. Anne
