Hi Donald, thank you for this information on the Janets. I doubt if I am going to find out who her parents were. Just thought I'd send you this info I picked up in Glasgow at the Mitchell Library. Coll Volume 4 Hector McLean born 1696 son of Ewen McLean of Treshnish died 10 April 1775. Hector married Janet McLean June 22, 1743 daughter of Hector McLean, tacksman of Knock. Janet died at Coll 2 August 1791. 1. Hector and Janet had a daughter Margaret born 22 May 1745 and died young. 2.Also, a daughter Florence born 15 October 1747 who married Captain Lachlan MacLean of Coll. 3. A son Allan, who was an Officer in the Army born 23 April 1751 and died at sea. 4.
