As you seem pretty sure that the 1893 Catherine, the daughter of John McNeil and Janet went to Canada, I think I will claim the 1891 Catherine (dau of Malcolm McNeil and Janet Campbell) as the one who married Archibald Beaton in 1814. There are some things that we may never get 100% proof but, in my opinion, this seems a pretty safe bet. I think I will ask Ian to amend the web site to reflect this conclusion. John Beaton
