In reply to Jacqueline Archibald re the location of these two places in Mull records, Jo Curry's book 'Mull. The Island and Its People' has a map at the front which shows both places. They are both in the far north of the island which I think places them in the parish of Kilninian & Kilmore. Quinishis actually marked on my Landranger OS map 47 scale 1:50 000 (1cm=500metres). Quinish House at 415 544. It is to about 3 km slightly N of NW from Dervaig. Quinish was still held by the Macleans of Coll in 1800 and beyond. Mornish is not marked on this OS map but using Jo Currie's map as a guide it is roughly at 375 536 almost 2 km due N of Calgary. Mornish had been in the hands of the Campbells of Argyll until after 1800 when it was passed to Trustees and bought by Capt MacAskill c1815. Anne Maye

I think maybe my message to the list was not understood. I only put this info on to let anyone know what the Archives of Scotland told me in searching for information of estate records. I didn't want to know where they were only trying to track down old records.
