The informant was son John McFayden, shoemaker. Portmore, present. Now, of course this could be a typical error you find on death certificates where informants take a guess at what they don't know, but it seems to be pointing to a totally different fa! m! > ily. The info I had on Marion McNeil and Allan McPhaiden was married 18 Mar 1817; children Lachlan born 10 Dec 1818 Penmore, Archibald born 4 Oct 1823, Donald born about 1825 and died 6 May 1860 in Glasgow and married to a daughter of Archibald McQuarrie. This is why it didn't quite fit in with the normal McNeil names.
