    3. Jean and Ian's descriptions of the location of the cross are accurate. The going underfoot is a bit soft, and the ground is full of bracken and rushes. I last visited the cross in 1992, on a damp day and returned with absolutely soaked trousers because of the amount of water in the grass, and even though I grew up in Argyll, I have never experienced midges like the ones I experienced that day! The signposting is, I think, something that the Clan Maclean Heritage Society might consider addressing, and as I am a newly appointed trustee of same, I am going to try and raise it in that forum.
