Fred, I would say the information you have is more or less correct... Neil McColl and Mary McPherson were married on 26th Dec 1797 in the parish of Kilninian. They had a number of children including Mary (baptised 28th Oct 1798), Dugald (3 Nov 1800), Donald (30 Jan 1803), Neil (18 Dec 1810) and John (25 Aug 1814). Given the long gaps, there were possibly more children, perhaps not surviving. In 1814, the family was living at Ardmore which is the most northerly part of Mull, a mile or two NW of Tobermory. It is said that the McColls on Mull were all descended from Iain ban Mac Cholla (Fair John) who came to Mull from Appin around 1700. If this is true (and it may not be), I don't know how your family would fit into this picture. Have you any idea who Neil's parents were? Or Mary's for that matter?
