Hi All, Just received a copy of the May Round and About. In it there is an advert for "'Tea with Chrissie' The story of Burgh and Ardmeanach on The Isle of Mull. This new book about about 'Chrissie (or Kirsty) Burgh' by Rosalind Jones has been years in the making. The afternoon will feature, as an honoured guest, Neil MacGillivray who helped with personal accounts of his fascinating Aunt, Christina MacGillivray. Craignure Villiage Hall on 16th May 2-4pm". Regret this is all the detail I have but thought you MacGillvray researchers would like to hear about it. Failing receipt of any further detail (reviews, price where available), I will have a look out for the book when I'm on Mull next month. All the best, Ian
Hello Ian, How wonderful that they have written a book about Chrissie. I believe I am somehow related to her but am not really to sure how. I hope they reprint some of her recipies in the book as I have wanted to get my hands on her recipe book for years but they never re printed the original and the first edition of her cook book sold out rather quickly I suspect this one will too. Hi Ian - Thanks for posting the notice on "Tea with Chrissie." Yes, please do post the source for obtaining this book when you learn more about it. My mother, a McGillivray, did have tea with Chrissie and would love a copy. - Karen
Hi All I would be very keen to get some information about the book when it is available. My father knew her well, having been at Tiroran and Tavool in the 40s and used to reminisce to me about her.
