Hi Jean, I didn't lose any family history files when I changed over because all of my other programs worked fine in the new Windows 7 O/S. The Oz bdm's are the only indexes that I was not able to install directly. As already mentioned they work well in the XPmode virtual machine but there are other VM software programs available which they could be used instead. This would get around the MS support issue. Most 32bit programs run perfectly well on the 64bit version of Windows 7 because they are installed into 32bit program folder called "C:\Program Files(x86}".I myself opted for the 64bit version of Windows 7 because it can access all available memory (8Gbs in my pc}, whereas the 32bit system is very restricted in it's use of memory.
