    3. Hi Jean, I pretty certain that you would be able to transfer your data but you would need to buy and Apple and an Apple version of your family tree program. Both are likely to be rather more expensive than PC equivalent. As Barry explained so clearly Windows 7 is available in 32 and 64 bit versions. 64 bit versions allow the machine to address larger amounts of memory and also work faster. This does mean however that you need to check that software will work on whichever bit version you migrate too. In reality most 32 bit software (i.e. XP programs) will work on 64 bit hardware but 64 bit software will not work on a 32 bit computer.
