Hi, I have just received the following reporting the said news of the passing of Donald who made a good number of contribution to this list. I remember him well from the genealogical gathering on Mull and meeting him in London on a couple of occasions. I have already passed on sympathies to Malcolm but those of you who remember Donald might wish to add there own personal message. Ian I’m writing to you to let you know that sadly, Donald McIlhagga passed away on 21st of January 2014. You may have known that he had been struggling with cancer for this past year. There is to be a service in celebration of his life and a gathering afterwards. We would very much like it if you are able to come and we would appreciate it if you are able to pass a copy of this email on to anyone you know who you feel would want to come. The funeral is to be held at Cuthbert's Church, Norham, Northumberland at 1pm on the 3rd of February 2014. After the funeral we are inviting everyone to join the family at Paxton House between 2:30pm and 4:30pm for refreshments. We have arranged the interment as a way for Donald’s Grandchildren to say goodbye, so it will be for immediate family only and on the next day at Hundy Mundy Woodland Burial Ground. Please don’t buy or send flowers. We would prefer, if you wish, that an equivalent donation be made to Cancer Research atcancerresearchuk.org/donate If possible please let Malcolm know how many are coming on malcolm@mcilhagga.net (or by replying to this email).
