    3. Ian I fully appreciate your experience and concerns. Last year I got my computer power supply changed by the local shop, and got them to install extra memory too. When delivered back to me, the engineer said that Microsoft couldn't give Windows 7 or 8 away (Vista was a bigger joke), and also that XP was a perfectly good OS (the best he said). Remember that Microsoft updates are to fix holes in it's IE browser. If you don't have IE installed, then there's no need to update. I haven't for years, without any problems. Firefox is updated occasionally, is totally free, and annoyingly to Microsoft, coimpatible with XP. XP for me, although the scaremongering will swell the Microsoft coffers once more. Why do you think that Microsoft won't allow the latest versions of IE (9 or 10) to be compatible with XP ? MONEY !! If you buy Windows 7 or 8 (or whatever it is now), you're just buying IE. You only have to read the technical paper available on the internet. I really do hope that you don't get attacked. I can see nothing in the software that you using that would give me confidence in the continued use of XP. I would state that I'm not in the employ of Microsoft but do have 40 years experience in the computer industry and could certainly not recommend others taking the route that you have but acknowledge your right to proceed in any direction that you wish. I wonder if you have taken any professional advice on this matter. Best regards, Ian

    3. Whatever advice we may be given on the internet by well meaning people, there really isnt any certainty that others will follow that advice. They make their own choices over which thankfully those who have given advice will not be responsible, and will no doubt be glad of it. The danger is in giving advice over which we are held responsible. Janet --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast! Antivirus protection is active. http://www.avast.com
