Hi Michael Thanks for this It makes me more confused (;-))) In Archibald Lamonts 1810-1900 info in Donald Whytes Book vol 1 where it states m Margaret McKechnie qv and had with other children... this had with other is the part which confuses me... and when theirs no mention of Margaret's info but their is for Mary McKechnie makes me wonder ??? Hopefully the researchers of this family will correct me...one way or the other. Ida "had with other children" : to me means that there were more than those mentioned (maybe unknown at the time). Mary whom you didn't give in your post is one of the 'others'. It's not clear in your last paragraph who you're asking about. Mary is d/o Archibald/Margaret McKechnie. She marries Donald Lamont s/o said Neil/Catherine Black. That's all I have at present.
