    3. Hello again Cambell, Further to my earlier reply re Mary McDonald/McQuarrie, having parents John McDonald/ Ann McNeill. Had a further check on 'Scotlandspeople' just out of interest and found a baptism for her on 9th April 1826 to John McDonald in Ardvaingness, Kilfinichen / Kilvickeon, and Ann McNeil. Their lawful daughter baptzd.( opr births, 542/0020/0054) Also couldn't find a marriage for John McDonald / Ann McNeill (any spellings) in OPR's. Anytime/anywhere. Only 2 marriages in OPR's 1780-1854 (anywhere) for a John McDonald marrying a McNeill/ McNeil, but no Ann/Anne/Mary/Mary Ann/ Mary Anne. Whittled them down to 1792, and 1824 though. The 1824 one is to a Jean McNeil and takes place in Glasgow (25 / 6/1824) Margaret.

    3. Hello Margaret, Sorry you have been to so much trouble! My curiosity led me to investigate myself a few days ago and I found a death for Ann McDonald aged about 70 similarly an occupant of the Lorne Combination Poorhouse registered by a friend one Susie Sinclair but devoid of any parental data. This death was in March 1892 and as she was not on the 1901 Census I assume it to be correct. By 1901 her daughter Mary Ann had baptised her own daughter Ann McQ. McDonald which would seem appropriate. None of this is very helpful to Ida to establish Ann McQuarrie's parentage.
