John was born 24 Sep 1847. Sarah C aged 46 is Sarah McDougall and in 1841 census with her McDougall siblings at 1841 Kinlochspelvie District No : 3 Page No : 6 House No : 26 Locality : Crogan 18414062 1861 above at No3 Portfield were Sarah's siblings and No 2 Portfield had Duncan Currie's brother Hector and fam. Hi Tricia, I have just checked the original film for 1861 Kinlochspelvie which clearly shows Colin as aged 13. The strange thing is that Ancestory.co.uk shows Colin as John. I'm real puzzled as 1851 shows a John aged 3 that would fit with John being 13 in 1861. John appears in the 1871 census as 23 so the balance of probability would have it that Colin is John but what an error. Might I ask the source of John's birth. Ian
