The information that John married Margaret McGilvray came from Jo Curry on some family trees she sent me. I don't know if you have heard back from Gordon, but he'll probably tell you about the same as I will tell you. We worked together lots while he was working genealogy. He and Dean are 3rd cousins. John McCormick married on 2 June 1853 Margaret McGilvray, born circa 1836, daughter of Donald McGilvray and Isabel McArthur. On 1 July 1855 Margaret died at Catchean. She is buried at Reilig Odhrain at Iona. They had no children. John married second 31 March 1859 Margaret McDonald born circa 1839, daughter of Donald McDonald and Janet Fletcher. Margaret McDonald McCormick died 19 January 1873. John and Margaret had seven children including John born 1858 who was illegitimate. John's third wife was Christina Vass, daughter of Wm Vass and Jane Livingstone. John and Christina married 6 November 1873 at Catchean. John and Christina had nine children. Christina died 24 March 1894 at Creich from childbirth. The son born 24 March 1894 died nine days later"
