New Year's greeting to all ... I'm new to this list. My interest is in the Isle of Coll but there's no rootsweb list for it. Ian mentioned a 1715 source for names on Mull, and I wondered if it's related to the following: Only recently I learned that the Scottish Record Society published in 1998 "Inhabitants of the Inner Isles, Morvern and Ardnamurchan, 1716" edited by Nicholas Maclean-Bristol. Does anyone on the list have a copy of that? I am interested in any McFadyens (McPhadden etc & all variants) mentioned on the Isle of Coll. The University of Guelph's McLaughlin Library (in Ontario, Canada) has a copy, but I don't know if or when I can go there. I hope this is not off-topic for this list ... Brenda in Toronto

The following are the McPhadden entries for Coll Page 165 - At Breckachie - Donald Mcphaden Page 166 - At Feall - Angus Mcphaden - sick Page 166 - Hugh Roy Mcffaden Page 166 - Angus McPhadden and Angus McPhadden his son Hope that helps. Brenda you are right on topic. I have a copy but will have to look for it. It maybe that Ian has copied it onto his list but I haven't looked . It is a case of just going through it page by page so if someone else has a bit more time I'll leave it to them but let me know if you don't get any replies.(I've just had my family stayting with me from Sydney and I'm "bushed" with getting back to normality and tidiness!!!!) As I recall it only lists names and the kind of weapons they handed in on 1716.
