Hi Libby and Hi to the group, Having read this message, I decided to look up this name in Jo Currie's " Mull Family Names for Ancestor Hunters" that I just had ordered into my local library (Worcestershire). It says that some Mull MacMillans were known as McIivoils in the 18th C records-and they were fairly sparse around Mull at this time- Arle,Achronich, Treshnish,Arin, Iona,Tir Fhearagain and Ardchoirk. She mentions Archibald McMillan and Flora McIntyre - both born in kilninian parish -1790ish- lived on the Strathallan estate at Oskamull - went on the New Zealander( as you stated) with Ann-29, Christian-27,John-23,Alexander-18.
