A key text on the clearances : Richards,Eric: "The Highland Clearances" Printed 2000 reprinted 2002 published by Birlinn (www.birlinn.co.uk) (UK 9.99 or USA $17.95) He happens to be a Professor here in S.Australia so there is much detail on lots places where there were significant clearances. It is much more detailed and exact than Prebble. However Mull does not rate a detailed mention.
