I have received a request for help from John MacDonald who lives in the UK and whose email address is [email protected] He has a black and white postcard with date stamp July 17 1911 that was in his grandmother’s effects when she died. The pc has a photograph of a park with some benches and railings on a footbridge which appears to be across a small river and is entitled “Park and River View Walkerville Ontario”. It is addressed to Misses MacArthur, farm, Uisgean, Bunessan, Ross of Mull, Scotland and the message reads “Dear Maggie and Flora We hope you are both keeping well. I wish I was in the Highlands with our Folks. It wont be long till I come home to see you all. With best love from your cousins Mary and Jim Stewart + kisses from Archie”. Are there any listers with McArthur or Stewart interests who can shed some light on this. I’ve suggested John joins the list but you could also reply to him direct. His mother’s family were MacArthurs from Uisgean, Ross of Mull and he knows that his g.grandmother had a sister Maggie/Margaret. They went to Colonsay with John’s grandfather when he was in his twenties so he thinks the Misses MacArthur would have been in their mid forties, early fifties in 1911. I’m sure John can supply further details if any of this rings a bell. Any help will be much appreciated. Jill
