Margaret I have to put my hand up and say 'oops' to Mary 1819. She is listed with Catherine's date on my Excel spreadsheet (years old) , and I can only assume I'd entered Mary instead of Catherine For the Uisken family, I will make their Mary 'circa 1819' As for the parents of mother Mary who died 1871 Uisken : Archibald/Sarah Beaton. You won't find the marriage or children, because the OPR records prior to 1804 for Kilfinichen parish were lost. We will only discover children of that couple from their SR deaths, as in this Mary's case. Anyone for tennis ? Not disputing the fact there was a Mary (Uisken), as you say she is in the census. But all Mary McArthur's/MacArthur's born around 1819 are to different parents as far as I can see. Had a quick look in opr's for marriage of all McArthur/ Beatons,( for Archibald/Marrion) all spellings, found nothing, nor any children. Nearest I found was ; 10/1/1809- Arthur McArthur workman in Knockvoligan and Marrion Beaton their lawf dau Mary bapt, so she couldn't be the Mary McArthur (Ardalanish) marrying Dugald McArthur in 1807? ( even if Arthur was Archibald ) Margaret (Melrose) On Tue, Aug 2, 2011 at 4:02 PM, MF <[email protected]> wrote: > hi Margaret - sorry for the confusion. > > I understood what you'd written, but I was expecting to see Ardchiavaig > and > Uisken, and not what is actually there :) > > It does look like a case of siblings, yes. > > The IGI also has Mary 1819, and the Uisken couple did have a Mary > (census). > This Mary married Murdoch Campbell, and is the one who died Ardchiavaig > 1900 > (very confusing, I know) > > One of the mothers died 1871 Uisken, aged 91. Michael and Margaret, Do you (or anyone) know when either of the Dugald McArthurs died? I'm assuming between the 1851 and 1861 census... Thanks Linda
Linda - I don't have either certificate (if both are available) Mullgenealogy has one death 4 Apr 1859 Ardchiavaig (also given to me by site user) I assumed (as does Mullgen) that this would the Ardchiavaig Dugald - father Charles, and has son of same name It would certainly be interesting to know if the other Dugald died after 1855 Michael ----- Original Message ----- From: "Linda M.
