It may not be specifically relevant to your story, but reading what you have written it certainly reminded me that I was aghast at how many children I found attributed to my grandfather. When I found he had been married 3 times, it seemed more feasible. I think we need an open mind to the possibilities of multiple relationships. Janet ----- Original Message ----- From: "King Family" <[email protected]> : Have got myself very confussed trying to work this family out and am hoping someone, with access to the originals of the 1891/1901 census can help me. : : Malcolm McEachern/McKechnie, son of John McEachern and Catherine McPhie, moved his family to Glasgow some time after 1866. I have some nine children for Malcolm and his wife Ann McNeil. : : Trying to marry this family in Glasgow I find two more children James born about 1873 Glasgow and Ann born about 1876 Glasgow. Can someone tell me are in fact these children of Malcom and his wife Ann or are they in fact grand children. I have a reference to their daughter Catherine, who married John Simpson in 1885, but can't make out my own note taking.
