My road back to Mull goes through my mother's line - Elizabeth Beaton - Hugh Beaton - Hugh Beaton - John Beaton (1830-96, born Dervaig, died Glasgow) - Hector Beaton (born about 1802, Mull) and Alice McLean (born 1801, Mull), who both came from Dervaig, near Tobermory, and probably died in Glasgow. Hector and Alice are listed in the 1841 Scotland Census, residing in Glasgow. Alice is listed in the 1851 Scotland Census, residing in Glasgow. I am most appreciative of the help that I received on this website, and for Michael's help and support.     3. Hi all, I will be at the MacLean Gathering providing genealogical support. I understand that next year the genealogy area will be in the upper hall of the Aros Hall and not stuck away in the gym. Looking forward to meeting all who are planning on coming to the gathering. At the last gathering I managed to link up two sets of cousins who until the gathering where not aware of their relationship. Hoping to make even more links next year. Don't forget to bring your family tree information and we will see what can be added.
