Hi everyone, I am still researching my Donald McDonald family, son of Archibald McDonald and Margaret Curry. He came to NZ about 1864 and all the males iof the family left Mull as well. However, Marion (Sarah), a daughter of Archibald and Margaret married another Archibald McDonald (same name as her father) and they had sons who may have descendents still living in Tobermory. The sons of Sarah and Archibald were Niel, who drowned at age six opposite Browns Shop, Portmore; Archibald, born 1870, Donald born 1873, Mary, born 1875. There were also two girls, Flora and Margaret born in 1863 and 1864 who did not survive. The latest on Sarah was from the 1891 census and she was a laundry maid (59) living on Camerons Land with Donald, groom and Mary dressmakers apprentice. Sarah died in 1909 in Tobermory. They must all be buried at the Tobermory graveyard. I would love to know whether any of the McDonalds still living in Tobermory are desscended from this Archibald and Sarah McDonald. PS Please stop the petty bickering. It's spoiling the website and I'm another one who appreciates the hard work done by Ida and Ian but has also had pleasant experiences in dealing with Michael.
