Hi Mull Listers, This will be of interest to any of you with Mull and/or Tiree connections near Manilla, Ontario. There are several “Open Door” sites hosted in or near Manilla on Sunday September 11, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Unfortunately, the Wick cemetery in Brock, which has many Mull burials, is not part of this event. Though of course you can still visit it without a Host being on site. Nearby, the Scotch Cemetery in Brock Township is part of the event under the auspices of the local Brock Township Municipal Council in cooperation with Open Doors Ontario. The Scotch Cemetery has the second largest concentration of Tiree burials in Canada, (Tiverton being the first). Interestingly, the Manilla Library will be open -- it has been closed to the public for 10 years awaiting restoration of the interior. Who knows what it may hold?
