    3. Hello Ida, Thank you for that. The John I am looking for is the son of Peter McIntyre and Flora Campbell from Ardalanish. He was born in 1814 at Ardalanish. He had either died or left the Ross by 1841. He was the eldest brother of Christina McIntyre who was my Great Grand Mother who married Donald McIntosh McGilvray. I will do some more research of this couples marriage and Flora's birth in England and see what I come up with. 3. Jean and Ian's descriptions of the location of the cross are accurate. The going underfoot is a bit soft, and the ground is full of bracken and rushes. I last visited the cross in 1992, on a damp day and returned with absolutely soaked trousers because of the amount of water in the grass, and even though I grew up in Argyll, I have never experienced midges like the ones I experienced that day! The signposting is, I think, something that the Clan Maclean Heritage Society might consider addressing, and as I am a newly appointed trustee of same, I am going to try and raise it in that forum. Approximately .5 miles past the Carsaig turning going towards Iona there is a converted church. 3. hello Alison, Welcome to the List. So that other may either help you or be helped by you, you need to put all known particulars of your Campbell 3 x G Grandmother on the list as well as details of her husband and any of her children. Because she was a Campbell, the date of birth and the location will be vital (if you have that information) , as there were a considerable amount of Campbells on Mull and if - as is the norm - your ancestor has a common shared name it is easy to get confused. The more information you know and are prepared to share ends up in the archives, so people that may not be on the link at the moment may be helped in the future. If you haven't gone through them yet it is worth your while to have a look, there may have been people in the past who are no longer on the link that have posted information that may assist you. I reread the Archives at least once a year - that is why it is very important to put a clear indication of what your posting is about in the 'Subject'. Good luck with your research Kind regards Jan Peasnell/Sydney/OZ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alison Round" <beebee@cantab.net> To: <sct-isleofmull-l@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, May 14, 2007 9:16 PM Subject: [SCT-ISLEOFMULL] my ancestors from Mull >I have just found your group from the Mull website and more details of my >3x > G grandmother Campbell ( and her family) listed on various pages. > what key details do you need to add me to the group? > > Alison > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > SCT-ISLEOFMULL-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without > the quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
